How to increase footfall to your exhibition stand

  • by

Predicting the footfall to your exhibition stand space can be hard, as it’s based on efforts made before and during the exhibition. To say preparing for an event is hard work, is an understatement and ideally, you need to take each opportunity and max out all the marketing and advertising chances

Many events (but not all), are expensive. The cost of travel, hotels, exhibition equipment, the stand space, accessories, and the cost of people being out of the office, isn’t something to ignore.
So, before going ahead and booking a show, do you know how to make the most of the stand space and will the business you receive out weight the investment you made for the day?

There are many ways to maximise the footfall to your exhibition space and here are our top tips.

The planning beforehand is imperative and could determine how busy your stand becomes. If no one knows you’re there, how will they find you?

Social Media

Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are good places to start when it comes to promoting your exhibition. Using the available platforms before the event, is going to help you succeed on the day of the event.

Polls and feedback are a great place to start as you’ll be able to find out from your customers directly what they would like to see and what would make them feel compelled to step on to the space.

But after you’ve got your facts and figures, the marketing campaigns can begin.

Make it loud and clear! Which event will you attend, where they can find you and the USP’s of your space. Lead with your strongest stand feature to reel in a crowd.

Emails / Existing customers

When you’ve got a client base, you’ve potentially got sales at the tip of your fingers. You’d be silly not to use them.

Pick up the phone, send out personalised emails and find out if they’ll be attending. If not, invite them to visit your stand and take the chance to build a strong rapport for long term business.

Now the hard works been done in the background, the efforts you make on the day also play a large part.

Choose the right people

In a business, each person brings a different set of skills to the table.

Knowing who will enjoy the experience and engage most with the customers is an area that needs to be looked at. The choice of people/person should be able to speak with confidence, have great product knowledge and able to sell and promote without being overbearing.

The people you choose to place on the stand is just as important as the stand design. As after all, they will be face and voice of the company for the day.

Stand Design

In addition to the staff members you choose to have on the day, your exhibition stand, design and accessories will tell a story.

To choose the right display stands you’ll need consider what stand size you have, the ideal exhibition stand, how much floor space you’d like to use for accessories, the artwork and branding details and also the budget. Working with a budget through the entire project will keep you on the straight and narrow without overspending.

The key to creating a stand is taking into consideration how it can be used again, longevity and how much of an investment it could be.
